WK Driebanden - 2013 Antwerpen - WCship 3-Cushion billiards
This WC-ship 3-cushion billiards organised in Antwerp was a great success. The main organiser was Ludo Dielis, former world champion, supported by a team presided by Dirk Van Mechelen. The organisation of the event was close to perfect. The Antwerp Lotto Arena formed the stage of this event. Every day between 750 and 1500 spectators were present with a top on the final, won by Belgian Frédéric Caudron.

 The 2013 World Championship organisation proved to be impeccable, attracting on average over 1.000 spectators per day and about 1.500 the day of the Final. Congratulations to the organisation team presided by Dirk Van Mechelen and managed & inspired by Ludo Dielis.
The podium was as follows : 1. Frederic Caudron (Belgium), 2. Philippos Kasidokostas (Greece), 3. Alexander Salazar (Colombia) & Dick Jaspers (Netherlands)
Remarkable fact : it seems the Gabriels billiard tables invited the players to extreme "tempo play", letting the cue ball landing slow, nearly dropping dead, on ball 3. |
